Slate is a waterproof laminate stone suitable for flooring, showers, wet-rooms. It comes in predominantly black and green colours, either in tiles or for custom-cut surfaces from slab. It should be sealed before use. Although slate is not as suitable as granite or compressed quartz for kitchen counters, it can be used for this purpose if properly treated.

A small number of the possible slates that we can source are provided on the website. Others include Welsh slate (blue/black colour), Brazilian green (pea green colour) and West Moreland green (dark green). Whilst "Verde Ardesie" literally translates as "green slate", it is actually a German limestone.
